Nigerians deals with one another better when they sees you that you are from the same ethnic group, that is why country like Nigeria will not allow two party system due to the diversity in the ethnic group. The only people that actual do have to do change of names are the female. This is the result of been married to another man and they have started answering their husbands name, those are people who need a change of them.

But recently change of names has been one hell of a thing in Nigeria, many people in Nigeria wants to do change of names since the introduction of the BVN, that is the Bank Verification Number, when the CBN, Central Bank of Nigeria, order everyone to register for their BVN, it was seen that most Nigerians have different names and they use those names in opening account with banks and since the CBN has order the BVN, many has to look for a way whereby they can link their account to the center number that the CBN has ask everyone to get.

Many have found it a hard thing to do because for example in Zenith Bank their name is Chukwunosa David Paul and in GT Bank the same person have account name as Chukwunosa Paul Zion, and when you look closely the names do not match in other words the names belong to two different persons and with that the names cannot be merge with the Bank Verification Number with this name Chukwunosa David Paul, the only thing bank 2 which is the GTB will ask you to do is to go and do a change of names and many have found it hard to do a change of name.

The first thing you should do in doing the change of name is to go and swear affidavit from any court. But the problem and stress banks are putting their customers is that they will tell you to go to either Court of Appeal or Federal High Court.

When you get there, it is either they type the affidavit for you or you go with a sworn affidavit. I will be giving you steps or showing you a sample of a sworn affidavit so that you will know how they prepare the affidavit of change of name.
